All Conversions Use Last-Click Attribution
Every enabled conversion action in this account uses Last-Click attribution. Several high-volume actions would qualify for Data-Driven Attribution (DDA), which is generally more accurate. The account is leaving attribution accuracy on the table.
Why It Matters
Last-Click is the simplest attribution model. 100% of credit to the last touchpoint. It has the advantage of being deterministic and easy to explain to stakeholders, but the disadvantage of systematically under-crediting assist touches. When every action uses Last-Click, the account's entire attribution lens defaults to "credit only the closing touch," which biases campaign-level reports toward bottom-of-funnel campaigns and away from prospecting/awareness. DDA is generally more accurate for high-volume accounts, and at this point in Google Ads' evolution (post-2023) it is the recommended default for accounts with sufficient signal. The check is more severe than `suboptimal-attribution-model` because every action is Last-Click. Not just some. Indicating an account-wide methodology choice that may not have been revisited recently.
How To Fix It
- Identify which Primary actions are DDA-eligible (volume threshold; check Tools & Settings → Measurement → Attribution).
- Update eligible Primary actions to Data-Driven Attribution.
- Document the attribution methodology change in team materials and stakeholder reports. Campaign-level credit allocations will shift.
- Re-baseline campaigns over 14-30 days under the new attribution.
Example
All 12 enabled conversion actions: Last-Click
DDA-eligible (volume): 5
Recommended: switch eligible Primary actions to Data-Driven.That every enabled Google Ads conversion action in this account uses Last-Click attribution. Google's attribution documentation, Data-Driven Attribution is the recommended default for accounts with sufficient conversion volume and produces more accurate credit assignment than Last-Click. Fix: switch eligible Primary actions to Data-Driven Attribution and re-baseline campaign reports. Source: support.google.com/google-ads/answer/6394265.
