LinkedIn No Active Conversions
Your LinkedIn account has no active conversion action recording any volume. Either the Insight Tag is not installed, the conversion actions are configured but their triggers do not match the live site, or every active action is genuinely receiving zero traffic. In all three cases, campaigns cannot optimize and reporting cannot describe outcomes.
Why It Matters
A LinkedIn account in this state is running unmeasured. There are a handful of configurations that land here, and each has a different fix path. The most common cause on new accounts is that the Insight Tag was never installed. Campaign Manager still lets you create conversion actions, but no events fire because no tag is present to fire them. Microsoft Learn's Insight Tag reference documents the install footprint (a single script tag in the site header, or a Tag Manager template), and you can verify it from the browser console by inspecting requests to px.ads.linkedin.com. The second pattern is when the tag is present but the conversion actions are misconfigured. A URL-based trigger that doesn't match the live thank-you page. An Event-Specific Pixel using a different conversion ID than the one in the tag. A CAPI event that fires server-side but isn't linked to the conversion in Campaign Manager. The Insight Tag fires on the site, the actions stay at zero because nothing matches. The third case is when everything is wired correctly and traffic is genuinely zero — new campaigns that haven't started, paused accounts, regional accounts during off-season. Rare, but don't conflate it with the first two. The symptom is the same in all three: campaigns run, dashboards populate with impressions and clicks, and the conversions column is permanently empty.
How To Fix It
- Confirm the Insight Tag is present. Open the live site in a browser, open the network tab, filter for px.ads.linkedin.com, and reload. A request should appear on every page load. If not, install the tag from Campaign Manager, Account Assets, Insight Tag, following the Install the LinkedIn Insight Tag help article.
- If the tag is present, open each active conversion action and check its trigger. URL-based actions need a URL match that exists on the live site. Event-Specific actions need their event to actually fire in the page DOM. CAPI actions need a configured server endpoint sending events.
- Trigger a real conversion end-to-end (submit the form, hit the thank-you page, complete the purchase) and watch Campaign Manager for recorded volume within an hour.
- If nothing records, the issue is the trigger, not the tag. Compare the conversion action's configured trigger byte-for-byte against what the site actually does.
- Only after at least one action records non-zero volume should you trust any LinkedIn reporting from this account.
Example
Insight Tag installed: yes
Active conversions: 4
Conversions with volume in last 30 days: 0
Fix: walk each action's trigger against the live site and reconcileThis LinkedIn account has zero active conversion actions recording any volume. Per LinkedIn's Install the LinkedIn Insight Tag documentation and the Microsoft Learn Insight Tag reference, recorded volume requires the Insight Tag to be present on the site, conversion action triggers to match real site events, and at least one campaign or organic visit to satisfy those triggers; failure of any of these three steps produces the same empty-conversions symptom. Fix: verify the Insight Tag fires on the live site, walk each active conversion action's trigger against the actual page or event it should match, complete an end-to-end test conversion, and confirm Campaign Manager records the test before relying on campaign reporting.
